Where has all the yarn gone?

Did you all miss us?

Mans, life happens ya know? While Shannon was off saving lives (literally), I have been spending a lot of time with the yarn. More organizing than crocheting, but I do have a project to share today.

My adorable niece is has just turned 8 and has chosen to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  To help her commemorate, I wanted to give her a small gift.

A small adorable gift. :)

Ran across this pattern a few months ago, but never had a reason to try. My wait is OVER!

christmas goodies!

so i'm lame. the only thing i took a picture of was the bag.  the rest i have pictures of, however, some of them are not the actual gifts given so forgive me. i'm exhausted.

first off, the bag.  or the provence summer string bag, if you will.  i fell in love with this the second i found it.  yet, i found it after i had started other gifts for people. those projects were quickly scrapped as i worked on 4 of these babies:

isn't that lovely?  i made this green one, a red one, a blue one, and a purple one. it was a labor of love really. soooooo tired...now i have to make one for me!!!

headwraps for the nieces.  green for kassy, turquoise for kaitlyn, blue for kailee, and orange for ellie.

and for my most favorite cousins, bath sets that included a face scrubbie and a bath poofie.  these may look small, but i must say that the poofie takes more time than it looks like it should.

now what i don't have pictures of are the beanies that i made for my nephews.  red/black/and white for sack, black/white for caleb, and hot pink for josh. yes, he requested hot pink.  in fact, all the nieces and nephews got to choose the color of their gift.  i must admit, the hot pink hat was my personal favorite. it turned out awesome. i'll have to get a picture as soon as i can.

my very favorite gift though, was for my dear brother in law.  it wasn't even crocheted, but it was awesome. i made him a nice picture frame. with a picture of me in it.  i just wanted to make sure he remembers how much he loves me. :)

in fact, is has THIS picture in it:

now he'll never forget how awesome i am. never never never.

holy crap i'm so tired!  now what to make next? i have a couple gifts left to finish and mail, but then i'm DONE!

a snuggie? pillows with swear words?  a new lampshade? move onto valentine's day?

Fat bottomed bags, you make the rockin' world go round!

There's something about Bear Lake that brings out the crafters in us. For weeks, we talked about what we wanted to do while we were there, and then finally we were there and we were so excited that we could barely contain our glee. And when I say we spent the whole time crocheting, I'm not kidding. EVERY MINUTE was utilized in the creation of cuteness. It was like cuteness barfed all over the cabin. Check this action out.

The first thing I needed to do when it comes to my projects, is find something to cart all my crap around in. Hence, this GINORMOUS bag. I really didn't mean for it to be this large, and these pictures really don't do it justice, but it's amazing.

It's a bucket bag!

This is a new headband creation. I'm in the middle of figuring out how to make a child size one. I know, don't make it so long. But, it's not that simple. There's a lot of counting involved. Those of you who know me know how much I hate to count. This has a cute green crocheted button in the middle. I had to crochet the button because I forgot to bring real buttons. It's sitting on my enormous bag.

Next on the list? Halloween stuff! Yes, this is a candy corn. I called them acorns the whole week, but that doesn't change the fact that they are adorable! That is a ghost in the background too. He's part of a project that I still need to finish. I can never just finish anything.

More pics of our creations. They include (but are not limited to because I haven't taken pictures of some stuff yet) bath poofies, face scrubbies (these are all technical terms), washcloths, and smaller bags to hold our odd'n'ends'n'balls. We'll also explain this later.

ALL THE CUTE STUFF WE DID!! Actually, this isn't everything. I still have more pictures to take!

TA-DA!

Welcome to "COOL"chet! Where we crochet immensely adorable things for our houses and for babies. The baby stuff is just too cute for us to ignore.

This is not your grandma's crochet. We often reminisce about the toilet seat covers of the past, with embroidered flowers and more fringe than you can shake a stick at. This is stuff that's adorable, easy to make, and compliments today's décor. Yeah, it may not be for some people. But I have yet to meet someone who doesn't appreciate an afghan. Or "kickassghan", as we like to call them.

I have a dream of one day having a room covered entirely out of crochet, one day…..anyways, on to the point of all of this…

Some of our upcoming projects:

House wares: curtains, lampshades, picture frames, chair/ottoman covers, rugs, bathroom accessories, pillows, blankets, storage boxes.

Baby stuff: Anything for babies is awesome.

RETRO crochet: Because we can. And it's COOL.

Bags: Yoga mat covers, market bags, purses.

Little things: Wine glass charms, magnets, pens, head wraps, jewelry, hats, hair ties and clips, and other embellishments.

Boudoir Buddies: For your personal and private pleasure! Have you ever seen those fake books that people store money in? Well, you can store stuff in these too! They're your own personal booty bags! Your 'unmentionables'…your personal pleasuring hardware, your pepper spray….whatever! Easy peasy nobody knowsy!

You name it, you can probably crochet it. Or at least fashion some sort of cozy. Cozies for everyone! Cozies for all! Our favorite cozy idea? The testicle receptacle. Yes, this is a cozy for testicles. We laughed so hard that we had to put it in here. It has a draw string.
